Maya Ajmera: Maya is the President and CEO of Society for Science & the Public and Publisher of its award-winning magazine, Science News, and family of media properties. Her vision is to promote the understanding and appreciation of science and the vital role it plays in human advancement: to inform, educate, and inspire. The Society sponsors the world’s largest international pre-college science competition. Approximately 1,700 high school students from more than 75 countries, regions and territories showcase their independent research as they compete for approximately $4 million in prizes.

Dr. Frederic Bertley: Senior Vice President of Science and Education at the renowned Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. He also founded and directs the Color of Science™ program, which highlights the fantastic contributions of women and persons of color to modern day science and engineering.

Our ‘Getting It Done Segment”: … Captain Barrington Irving and his crew launched a 9-week exploration around the world that includes expeditions across North America, Asia, and the South Pacific.

Dr. Christopher Emdin: … Associate Director of the Institute for Urban Science Education at Teachers College Columbia University (Hip Hop Science) and currently serves as Minorities in Energy Ambassador for the U.S. Department of Energy and the STEM Ambassador for the Department of State.

TOPPER CAREW: Topper is presently a Research Scholar at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Media Lab where he launched the Innovation Center Initiative. The Media Lab Initiative is collaborating with a select group of HBCU’s to support their Fab Lab endeavors. Topper attended the Howard University School of Architecture and has a Bachelor of Architecture and a Masters in Environmental Design from Yale University. Topper’s name may sound familiar; he was the creator and producer of the television series “Martin”. To date, Topper Carew has won more than 40 film and television awards.

AMERICAN GOAT INSTITUTE : Langston University’s E (Kika) de la Garza American Institute is world renowned for its Goat research and is recognized as a leader in the arena of goat production technology.

Internationally the Kenyan government officials look to Langston’s goat experts to help boost economy in East Africa. The Institute for Goat Research has also been involved in research, training and development projects in West Africa for several years.
